We are excited to announce that Beekeeper has secured $8 million in Series A financing. The funding is great news for our existing clients and companies looking for employee communication solutions. We take great pride in helping companies foster corporate cultures where everyone thrives, including the 2 billion non-desk workers. This new round of funds will allow us to continue to push the boundaries of employee engagement and internal communications.
The financing will propel the tremendous momentum we’ve experienced in 2016. We will continue to invest in customer success and new features to support large global enterprise customers as well as delight smaller family run businesses. Our vision for Beekeeper is to be the primary platform that non-desk workers use and need in their daily jobs with enterprise integrations into critical operational systems.
Our advances in technology and Customer Success makes it easy to successfully absorb major clients as we maintain the high level of service our existing customers have come to expect. In the past 12 months, we’ve extended our lead in our core hospitality, retail and manufacturing market with wins at Mandarin Oriental (hospitality), Dollar General (retail). We’ve also made a strong move into transportation with new clients including Heathrow Airport, Gate Group and Dnata. Other notable wins include Wireless Vision (the largest exclusive retailer for a major telecom company), food manufacturer Oberto and a few major hotel franchise groups.
On an industry level, there is huge amount of excitement around new ways of working together. The Beekeeper communication app is designed from the ground up for those employees who work shifts, don’t sit at desks, and do not have corporate email addresses. Companies can quickly reach, connect and engage these employees and create new ways of working better together – without emails or mobile numbers to login. The app is built from the ground up to be easy to use and features peer -to peer messaging, communications streams, group chat, and mobile surveys.
For organizations, Beekeeper matches corporate identity and branding, with automated workflows and scheduling to fully support operational strategies and communication. The app features real-time measurement to improve communication efficiency, gain insight and calculate impact, allowing for continuous optimization. Beekeeper’s Employee Communication Hub integrates with over 500 tools and can be extended further with shift management, payroll, intranets or HR systems.
Over the last year, we’ve grown to more than 50 employees, including building out our customer success teams in both San Francisco and Zurich. We will continue to grow in Europe with our offices in the UK and Germany. Our user base now spans more than 130 countries and integrates non-desk employees who previously fell outside of internal communication processes.
